Routeware, the new home for Webaspx, announced today that three more councils have chosen EasyRoute, its route optimisation software, to help them manage their waste collection services.
In the last three months, Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, Spelthorne Borough Council and Newport City Council have all joined a customer community of around 100 local authorities already using the software. The software is also used on further outsourced waste collection contracts by most of the leading contractors.
Many local authorities are currently considering if they need to make changes to their services to align to the government’s national waste strategy. Councils are looking at ways they can continue to improve household and business recycling rates and the quality of materials that are recovered, while at the same time controlling costs and planning for the increased demand from new build properties.
This technology will allow environmental service teams at these councils to manage their routes and services more efficiently and effectively.
Designed specifically for waste collection, EasyRoute is the most widely used municipal route optimisation software in the UK. The software enables users to model various operational service scenarios, optimise resource requirements, and produce rounds that reduce the risk of public disruption.
Thomas Moffat, UK Sales Director for Routeware said: “We are pleased to be able to help more councils improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their waste collection rounds. It’s a challenging time for local authorities as they manage a changing waste management landscape brought about by the return to offices, inflation, a tight labour market, and the government’s long-awaited waste management strategy.”
